Hypertectum Aqua
Water-based, fully aliphatic polyurethane waterproofing coating.
Introduction
Hypertectum Aqua is based on water-based polyurethane dispersion technology and protects structures in an environmentally friendly way, providing waterproofing in the most difficult conditions. It offers excellent resistance to ponding water and to harsh weather. Because it is aliphatic, it has excellent UV resistance and improves the energy performance of a building by lowering surface temperatures.

System build-up
- 01Substrate
- 02Aqua Primer or Universal Primer 1K, selected for the substrate
- 03Aqua in two or more coats
Before you start
Clean with a high-pressure washer where possible. Remove oil, grease, wax, cement laitance, loose particles, mould-release agents and old cured membranes. Fill irregularities.
Concrete conditions: C20/25, moisture ≤5%, temperature 5–35 °C, RH <85%. Suitable substrates include concrete, fibre-cement, cement roof tiles, wood, galvanised steel and polyurethane foam.
Application
Mix at low speed (300 rpm). Apply by brush, roller or airless spray in two or more coats. Minimum waterproofing consumption >1.5 kg/m², depending on the project.
For non-demanding applications without standing water or negative water pressure, Aqua diluted with 15% water may act as its own primer. For demanding applications use Aqua Primer or Universal Primer 1K, or contact ETS Europe.
Where it goes
Polyurethane foam, roofs, light roofing (metal/fibre-cement), under-tile applications (wet rooms), protection of concrete against carbonation.
Limitations
Do not apply in extremely wet weather, when rain is imminent or at near-freezing temperatures. Unsound substrates require advice from ETS Europe; reinforcement may be possible in some cases.
Cleaning and storage
Clean tools immediately with water. Pack sizes: 5 and 12 kg. At least 12 months unopened in a dry place at 5–25 °C. Protect from frost; use as soon as possible once opened.
