Introduction

Hypertectum Universal Primer 2K is a two-component, solvent-free primer, specially designed for Hypertectum polyurethane membranes. It cures very quickly and is non-toxic (zero VOC). Ideal for use at low temperatures and low humidity.

Preparation

Remove loose material, dust, vegetation, salts and oils. Grind off and remove loose parts with suitable tools. Repair major cracks with Hypertectum Tectflex-PU before the final coat.

Application

Combine both components and mix thoroughly. At high temperatures, pot life can be extended by pouring the mix into a wide, shallow container.

Thinning with 5-10 % of a suitable solvent is recommended for easier application. Once thinned, the product is no longer zero-VOC.

Apply with roller or brush. Once dry (at the latest 2-3 hours after application), apply the Hypertectum membrane.

Limits

If there is any doubt about adhesion to a particular substrate (especially plastics), test suitability before use.

Avoid over-application: do not exceed 200 g/m².

Once thinned, the product is no longer zero-VOC.

Cleaning

Wipe tools with dry paper or cloth, then clean with a suitable solvent. Re-using rollers is not recommended.

Storage

At least 12 months in the original unopened containers, in a dry place at 5-25 °C. Once opened, use immediately.
